Why can't the liberals of the world get some sense? Why do we just have to have someone such as Sotomayor to be a supreme court justice? Why can't ideologues at both ends of the spectrum look at what is law and what is common sense and go with that. For that matter,"Why can't the far religious right get some sense?"
I don't appreciate either the far religious right or the far "nut-job" left trying to rule over the rest of us. Let me list some things here that doesn't make sense to me.
To the far right:
1. I don't think pornography is morally sound either, but if someone wants to look at it in the privacy of their own homes, it isn't any of your business unless children are involved.
2. I don't drink, but if someone else wants to drink then more power to them. As long as I don't have to support their habit it's okay.
3. If you don't like what is playing on TV,radio, the internet, there is such thing as an off button.
4. You are not God, you shouldn't pass your narrow judgement on other folks, in public anyway.
5. You must understand that some people may disagree with you in a very public way, and you may get embarrassed. Use some common sense once in a while, realize that just because you disagree with something doesn't make it a deadly sin.
I am so right-leaning it's a wonder I can stand up straight. I believe that abortion is murder in 99% of all cases. I think being a practicing homosexual is an abomination. I believe I ought to have the right to keep and bear arms and it's none of the governments business. I believe with all my heart that our current president and the leaders of both houses of congress are the greatest threat to our national security/intrest we've faced since the founding of our country. I think all young people should serve at least 1 hitch in the military if they are physically able. I believe that all illegals should go home. I believe we ought to halt all immigration immediately. I believe we should not be in the UN. (they are the 2ND greatest threat to our national security behind BO) I believe if you publicly insult/wrong someone you ought to get your butt whipped!(I'd be afraid of doing that now since there are so many lawyers and sissy men these days) I believe that most people bring their own trouble on themselves and ought to have to get out of trouble by their own efforts, with the help of God. These are my opinions you can like them or not, I really don't care. These are the things that shape my thinking, this is my philosophy about life. If you don't like them I'd be glad to open up a discussion with you or you can not read my blog.
However, I'm considered a leftist on some things. I am a tree hugger, a animal lover, and I'd like to have clean fresh air to breath. I do not personally want to pollute our beautiful pristine forests and I don't want us to dump "junk" in the bodies of water we own, I'd like everything to be as clean and neat as it can be. However, I'm not stupid and I realize that common sense has to sometimes break out and certain things must be done. That leads me to the "nut-job" leftist out there.
To the left:
1. Repeat after me: There is no such thing as Global Warming! In fact, in the last 10 years the average temp had decreased by 1/2 degree, you can look that up and verify that as the truth. Most of you are too young to remember the 70's when your older "left wing loon" brethren ran around all "wild-eyed" screaming about global cooling. Realize that Al Gore does what he does to make more money. Look at his lifestyle and tell me he really believes what he preaches. HA! Whatever!
2. Socialism has never ever worked anywhere in the world, why do you want to use that system of government when capitalism has been so good to us thus far! If you are a leftist college student you are not really in a position to understand the difference because you've probably never had to go out and make a living on your own. Realize that evenutally you'll have to earn a living and you will not appreciate paying all the taxes you'll be forced to pay.
3. Oil is what makes our country run. One volcano puts more "junk" in the atmosphere than all the cars and trucks ever have. We cannot just quit producing gasoline overnight and expect to keep the lifestyle that we've grown accustomed to. There's not a dang one of you liberals that would really want to live the way you vote, and none of you think the rules apply to you. Most of you would starve to death if we suddenly quit producing fuel. And furthermore, it's my opinion, if you voted for the democratic party you ought not be allowed to complain about the sky rocketing cost of gasoline. It's the members of your party that has blocked the building of refineries, nuclear power plants, and any other attempts to be self-sufficient in regards to energy. If fact, thanks to folks in your party, our manufacturing corporations are running as fast as they can to oversees locations to escape the hordes of lawyers and unions. You people need to wake the heck up, there's a freight train coming!
4. Barrack Obama is not the great savior of the world. He is a communist and you will not like your life very well if he gets what he's desirous of. You media types and lawyers will be the first people he comes after (communist always stifle dissent, actually they kill it, literally) and then he'll get the unions. I have a hint for you, read history and get a clue.
5. Guns don't kill people, people kill people. Our founding fathers allowed us to keep weapons so we could protect ourselves from government. IF you disagree with that last statement you need to go back and read some history. Now, more than any other time in our history since the revolutionary war, is proof that our founders knew what they were doing when they allowed us to keep firearms. I'm not advocating armed rebellion at all, I'm totally against it. I'm just saying that the only thing keeping a rein on BO and his merry band of socialist/communist is that they know they'll get their butt shot off if they go to far.
6. You don't believe in God, that's okay. Most of us do and you need to sit down and shut up about it.
7. Homosexual behavior is not NORMAL! The very laws of nature tells you this and most of the country is sick of having it waived in their face. I just watched the O'Reilly Factor and they showed the Borat guy having his rear-end in some guys face. That is not funny, it's disgusting, animals have more morals than whoever thought this sick stunt up. Over 80% of our nation professes belief in God and in Christian values and, the bible says homosexuality is wrong. If you have a problem with this last comment get up the nerve to comment on this post and we'll have a big debate If you are an atheist I will not waste my time talking to you.
Both sides need to use some common sense. We need to realize that any extreme is just that, extreme. We need to adopt a live and let live philosophy when dealing with each other. The far right wants to dictate how everything is supposed to work and the far left wants to do the same thing. I'm not advocating an anything goes attitude toward life, I'm simply advocating the use of some good old common sense. Our country has worked pretty well for over 200 years, I don't know that we'll survive BO and the communist that rule us now.
