Leaving Bahgdad!

I am glad to see our armed forces pulling out of Iraqi cities and towns! From the beginning of this war our leaders, starting with George Bush, have done everything they could do to make sure we couldn't possibly win this war. If I were one of the people that made the decisions about the rules of engagement our soldiers have had to follow I believe I'd have to eat a pistol. I honestly don't understand how our leaders can send our military into combat and tie their hands to the point they can't win.

If any politicians happen to be reading this, I have a question for you. Do you think you are more important than any individual that serves in our armed forces? I guess what I'm really wanting to know is if any of our politicians even think about the lives that are lost directly because of the asinine rules of engagement they place on our soldiers. It's easy to send someone to do your political bidding when you don't have to do it yourself. The worst thing, in my humble opinion, that can happen to a member of the US military is when Democrats take control of the country. The very first thing a Democrat does upon taking power is to raise taxes on the public. The second step is to cut the military to near nothing. Of course Democrats never ever seem to mind sending our troops all over the world to fight which ever political battle seems most expedient to their cause. Our soldiers die in great numbers because our politicians are basically cowards and want to fight wars like the old A-Team show. Lots of shooting but no deaths or injuries. Liberals throw a snit if they think the USA is about to win a war and do their best to see that we lose and or they apologize to our enemies.

This next observation probably deserves a whole post by itself. Some members of our media need to be placed up against a wall and dealt with for what I consider treason. I heard members of our American media saying, when this war started, they weren't going to take sides in this war. What?!? The folks saying this were Americans! So from that attitude I guess we can deduct that some members of the media consider themselves above everything and citizens of the planet. I figure their attitude is a good enough reason to move them to China; enough of them seem to love that "crap-hole" of a country. Heck, I'd buy a couple of them 1 way tickets to China if they'd go and stay there. (Keith Olberman,Katie Kuric,...and the list could get really long if I could remember all their names and wanted to spend the time listing them here. I really wish BO and his merry band of communist would all go too.

I can't imagine how horrible it would be to have folks shooting at me and I wasn't allowed to fight back with everything at my disposal. My view of fighting is this: I don't like to fight and I will go out of my way and do everything I can not to have to fight. (I've not always felt this way but the older I get the wiser I think I've become and fighting isn't something I like to do anymore) But, if you push me into a fight I will give you everything I have and I will do everything I can to win. If you are going to be shooting at me and I have a weapon to use I will shoot you back if given a chance. I'm not saying every fight is to the death. But in my opinion when countries are involved the fight is to the death. You either win or you lose and what is at stake means too much. We can't send human beings off to war and ask them to risk their lives and expect them not to fight to win. Winning means killing the enemy before they kill you, and our soldiers deserve the chance to win if our leaders will allow them to.

As far as I'm concerned, we shouldn't have gone to Iraq to start with. But, since we did we should have totally destroyed Iraq and got it over with much quicker. We shouldn't ever re-build a country we've fought a war with, whoever we fought shouldn't have angered us enough to fight to start with. I wish the world worked the way liberals believe it does, that being that thugs can be reasoned with. Unfortunately we don't live in a world like that, and it's been proven over and over again that the only way to deal effectively with violence is to use more violence. A couple of generations ago our grandfathers just about wiped out Japan, Germany and indeed most of Europe. The people we have running our country today wouldn't have enough guts to win a war such as WW1 or 2, and we'd all be speaking German/Japanese now if one of our last four presidents were in power. I believe Ronald Reagen would have fought the two "Gulf Wars" far differently than the two Bushes did and we'd have rid ourselves of a lot a problems.
