Bankrupt?

I watch the news every day and all I hear is bad news about our economy, on how taxes are going to have to be raised, and generally gloom and doom for our republic. I scratch my head and wonder if I'm not the only person in the world that is smart enough to figure out what's wrong with our economy? Any average person with just a little sense can see what the problems are and could fix the problems if the government would get out of the way. It makes a person wonder if the politician's are not as smart as they portray themselves to be. I think most of them are very smart, the problem is that most of them are immoral and corrupt. The politicians have sold their soul's and the future of our country for personal power and money, not realizing, that in the end, they will have neither when our country has gone the way of the Roman empire.

I have a few solutions that might solve some of our financial problems:

1. How about we quit printing our government forms in 43 different languages. I saw somewhere that doing this cost the tax-payers several billion dollars a year.

2. Cut off all foreign aid until we get our own house in order. Our country is going bankrupt and we are still giving out money like we have it to give. What reasonable entity keeps spending money when it's going bankrupt? Only a government would do such a thing and get away with it.

3. Shut our border completely down and deport all illegals. Or, just make the penalties for hiring illegals so harsh that nobody would dare hire them. Also, we would need to make sure our government agencies couldn't hand out public assistance to any non legal resident. We do these things and the illegals would deport themselves.

4. Make prisons be self-sufficient. Once upon a time our prisoners had to grow their own food until liberals got involved and called that cruel and unusual treatment. Prisoners shouldn't be allowed to obtain a free college education and they shouldn't be allowed to have free anything. We spend billions of dollars per year making sure a bunch of thugs, rapist, murderers,child abusers, drug dealers, and other assorted crud are comfortable and have cable TV. This ought not be so! Lets quit spending our hard-earned tax dollars on such asinine things.

5. How about we clean out death row once a month. Quit feeding the dregs of our society and give them there sentences quickly. Who knows? That might encourage other people not to commit horrible crimes if they knew they might get the needle very soon. Oh, and if there are any illegal aliens in our prisons or get caught doing a crime, send their butt back to their home country immediately. Not only are these people committing crimes against our citizens they are getting free room and board thanks to the people that work for a living in the USA.

6. Let companies go bankrupt. GM and Chrysler went bankrupt after their bailout and the taxpayers were "screwed" again. We have no business making any business a public business, it's just not what our country is supposed to do. The unions are the reason a lot of these companies are going bankrupt, in my opinion. Folks that are big union supporters need to realize that they are just lucky to have a job and shouldn't be allowed to "strike" a company out of business. I can see where unions may have been needed many years ago, but not in this day and time with the labor laws that are on the books.

7. How about making the income tax form 1/2 page long and a flat rate. I've read somewhere that the IRS spends 10's of billions of dollars just to enforce our tax code and what's crazy is that nobody really understands that mess. Why not just do a flat tax that is fair, fair meaning everyone pays the exact same percentage, and do away with the largest majority of the IRS? We'd save billions of dollars a year in enforcement and an average 4th grader could understand the tax form. Of course that would put a lot of other folks out of work, but we'd become more efficient as a country.

8. We could save 100's of millions of dollars per year if the congressmen and senators were made to contribute to the same retirement system(s) that the rest of us have to live by. I don't believe it's right or fair that an elected official, other than maybe the president, be allowed to draw any retirement from their government service. The retirement package they have now is enough to blow an average person's mind. Whats worse, if these people had performed in a real job the way they've performed as an elected official they'd have been fired a long time ago. There ought to be a one term limit on these yo-yo's just to keep corruption from happening. I believe that most of these people go to D.C. with good intentions but get corrupted after a time and that makes a one term limit make far more sense than the system we have now. Imagine how different our country would be if our elected nannies never had to worry about re-election or serving more than one term. Our nation would've never ever drifted so far to the left, in my humble opinion.

9. Completely eliminate any pork barrel projects from the national budget. I don't need to say anymore about this, if you don't know what that is you need to look it up.

There are so many things we could do to save money and lessen our burden, but the "powers-that-be" are only interested in getting re-elected to do the job they were elected to do to start with. The reason the Democrats are so interested in allowing illegals in this country is because that gives them a much larger voting base. I submit to anyone that if all the illegals in this country were not allowed to vote, Barrack "BO" Obama would not be our president. If you don't believe the illegals vote you are very naive and uninformed.
